hello@guizhou-beyond.com

01 What information will I receive after purchase?

After completing your purchase, your email will receive all relevant electronic documents including your booking confirmation, detailed itinerary, travel vouchers, and accommodation details.

Please print these documents and keep them with you — they serve as your official proof of booking and will be verified upon your arrival in Guiyang.

02 What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX), PayPal, and international bank transfers. All payments are processed through our encrypted payment gateway.

For large group bookings or custom tours, we also support deposit-based payment plans — 30% deposit to confirm, 70% balance 14 days before departure.

03 What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Our cancellation policy varies by tour package:

  • 30+ days before departure — Full refund
  • 15-29 days before departure — 50% refund

All refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.

04 Can I customize my itinerary?

Absolutely. While we offer curated packages, every itinerary can be tailored to your interests — whether you want to add extra days in a Miao village, include a cooking workshop, or focus on photography-specific routes.

Contact us with your preferences and our team will craft a bespoke journey just for you.

01 When should I book my flight to Guiyang?

Please arrange your flights to Guiyang based on your confirmed tour dates. We recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak travel seasons (April-May and September-October).

Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE) is the main entry point. We provide complimentary airport pickup for all confirmed bookings.

02 Do I need a visa for China?

Yes, most foreign visitors require a Chinese tourist visa (L visa). We recommend applying at your local Chinese embassy or consulate 4-6 weeks before departure.

We can provide official invitation letters and supporting documentation to strengthen your visa application upon request.

03 What should I pack for Guizhou?

Guizhou has a subtropical climate with varying elevations (600-2,500m). Packing essentials include:

  • Layered clothing for 10-15°C temperature shifts between day and night
  • Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip for terraced fields
  • Rain jacket — Guizhou is known as the "province of rainy days"
  • Sunscreen & hat for high-altitude exposure
  • Personal medications and basic first-aid kit
  • Power adapter (China uses Type A, C & I sockets, 220V)

A detailed packing checklist tailored to your specific tour will be sent with your booking confirmation.

04 Is there a best time to visit Guizhou?

Guizhou is a year-round destination, each season offering unique highlights:

  • Spring (Mar-May): Rapeseed flower fields, pleasant temperatures
  • Summer (Jun-Aug): Lush green terraces, cool mountain retreats
  • Autumn (Sep-Nov): Golden rice harvest, Miao New Year festivals
  • Winter (Dec-Feb): Dramatic karst landscapes, hot springs, fewer crowds
05 What language is spoken? Will I need a translator?

Mandarin Chinese is the primary language, with many ethnic minorities speaking their own languages. All our tours include professional bilingual guides fluent in English and Mandarin, so no translation concerns at all.

01 Is travel insurance included in my package?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is included in every package.

Upon meeting you in Guiyang, we will purchase full coverage for your entire journey on your behalf. The beneficiary will be a person of your choosing — please inform us of your designated beneficiary before departure.

03 Is Guizhou safe for travelers?

Guizhou is one of the safest provinces in China for travelers. Crime rates are very low, and local communities are known for their warm hospitality.

Our guides are trained in wilderness first aid and mountain safety protocols. We maintain small group sizes and carry emergency communication devices on all remote routes.

04 What happens if there's a medical emergency?

In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, your guide will immediately coordinate emergency response. Guiyang has excellent hospitals with English-speaking staff available at major facilities.

All medical expenses related to the emergency are covered by your travel insurance. We also maintain a 24/7 emergency hotline for all active tours.

01 What makes Guizhou special compared to other Chinese provinces?

Guizhou is China's hidden gem — often called "Colorful Guizhou" for its extraordinary diversity:

  • 49 ethnic minorities — More than any other Chinese province, each with unique traditions, festivals, and architecture
  • Spectacular karst landscapes — Massive limestone formations, underground rivers, and waterfalls
  • Ancient rice terraces — Some over 1,000 years old, still farmed today
  • Intangible cultural heritage — Batik, silver jewelry, Dong Grand Choir, and more
02 What UNESCO sites are in Guizhou?

Guizhou is home to multiple UNESCO-designated sites:

  • Libo Karst — UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning cone karst and natural bridges
  • Huangguoshu Waterfall — Asia's largest waterfall cluster
  • Miao (Hmong) and Dong cultural landscapes — UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
  • Guizhou's traditional paper-making and batik techniques are UNESCO-recognized crafts
03 How are the roads and infrastructure in Guizhou?

Guizhou has undergone an infrastructure revolution. The province now boasts over 30,000 bridges (including some of the world's highest) and 100% highway coverage to all counties.

High-speed rail connects Guiyang to major cities across China. Our tours use private 4WD vehicles for maximum flexibility on scenic routes.

04 What cultural festivals can I experience?

Guizhou is China's festival capital. Major celebrations include:

  • Miao New Year (Nov-Dec) — Massive celebrations with bullfighting, Lusheng music, and thousands in traditional silver jewelry
  • Sister's Meal Festival (Mar-Apr) — Miao Valentine's Day with singing, dancing, and rice-dyeing
  • Dragon Boat Festival (Jun) — Spectacular races on the Qingshui River
  • Dong Grand Choir performances — UNESCO-recognized polyphonic singing
